...a portraitAfter not submittimg anyuthing for so long...bang bang bang! looks like I am posting everything I have been playing with in the last few months of "silence"...
Again...I am trying to let my brush strokes a lil more free...relaxed.
I feel like a "brush stroke nazi"!!! It has to go where I want it the way I want it...grrrr...I need to let it go wherever IT wants to!
...Harder than it seems!

I turned this around on my program and found that her eye was lop-sided. So you really did make this in the position without rotation at all! THAT'S FREAKING AMAZING!!!! Very profesional strokes and colour. The leaves give off much attraction in this picture. And the expressions are so bold. The tiny details in her hair and eyes are phenomenal.

I love your use of color in the warm/light and warm/shadow color. Even your sense of proportion has come a long way.
Yes, let your hand do what it know's is right then what the brain thinks is right.
Try switching hands when painting too! Frank Frazetta was forced to switch hands because of health issues and one of the things he said was that it made his work, hand strokes, more free flowing and relaxed.

How do you create the smooth blending in the flesh tones? I am trying to learn airbrushing technique for Photoshop CS, and I've learned a lot, but I haven't been able to find good technique or tutorials on how to make flesh and faces look smooth instead of globs of paint. PLEASE HELP!

I have wanted to try to be a little more free with my strokes. Part of the reason I decided I needed a wacom. Because I mouse paint and try to make lines or a sweeping motions and its like man hand stutters or skips. Maybe cause of wrist bones?? Anyways Just blabbing and revisiting this and still loving it.
