How thought-provoking and enigmatic! I especially love how the thorns have this happily-mystical atmosphere about them, even though they're thorns. I think my favorite part is her expression, how it conveys so many emotions as well as passion.

Simply awe inspiring. I feel very close to the Royal Martyrs. I venerate their icon every time I go to church.

awesome drawing, my good sir!
i like how nicely drawn is the woman's face, along with her teared-up face expression and the peaceful sorrow in her eyes...
also, i like how the veil in her head mixes up with the sea+the twisted thorns in the background, a symbol of the russian family's final suffering before death.
was the czar of russia bad? perhaps.
did he do mistakes? definitely.
should they kill him+his family like that? NO.
they could've imprisoned him and they could've sent his family into exile, while abolishing monarchy through the legal ways of the revolution.
thats the right way, the honourable way.
instead, they've sent a couple of drunk exectutioners+soldiers to kill an entire family.
thats awful.
anyways, great drawing again, and it ignited a very unique conversation.
keep up the good work!

Compared with some other royal families of his time, his fate should be the worst.
For example, the Habsburg royal family of the Austro Hungarian Empire, and the Chinese Aisin Gioro family,King Simeon II of Bulgaria. survived and lived well.
( Especially Chinese emperor Pu Yi was not treated cruelly after his establishment in People's Republic of China. The Chinese Communist Party also gave him the gardener's job.And he became a titular member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the National People's Congress.)

C-ATP to be fair, the habsburg's were pretty cool, and king pu-yi of china was a nice king (for a king, that is), and thats why he ended up being spared by the revolutionary army of china, i guess...
i wonder, is pu-yi's dynasty+bloodline+dynasty still alive, or did it ended with him?
hmm.

In fact, the bloodlineof Pu Yi is of course dead, and his dynasty is the same. Although Pu Yi has no descendants, his brother has.
Because he appeared in the wrong place at the wrong time, his first half of his life was not very good. He was very small when he was the emperor of the Qing Dynasty. He was controlled by the Japanese when he was Emperor of Manchuria, so he did nothing during these two periods.
As for why the revolutionary army would spare him, one of the leaders of the revolutionary army was Yuan Shikai. He used to be the minister of the Qing Dynasty. Naturally, it was impossible to kill the emperor. If he killed the emperor, it was not conducive to his reputation.
