I just love drawing family portraits and I so wanted to draw the Oak family when it was still 'complete'.
Well, now here you can see Prof. Oak, his wife Aurelia, their daughter Amber, their son Julian and their little grandson Gary, who's the son of Julian.
They all were quite a really happy family until the first bad things started to happen.
Amber was the first child of Prof. Oak and Aurelia, but she died very young due to a disease.
Her quick death was a real shock for the family, specially for Aurelia and Prof. Oak, who needed a long time to accept what happened to their daughter.
Before she got sick, Amber worked hard to become a famous Pokémon breeder. She really had talent for it…well, it wasn't meant to be.
As you can see Julian worked as a Pokémon scientist, just like his father. He often helped him with new inventions or new discoveries.
Julian is a really kind and helpful man, who loves Pokémon with his whole heart and he also loves his family.
One year before his sister's death his son Gary was born. Caring for him helped the family a lot to forget about the shock.
Julian was a real loving father for Gary and he did everything for his son. But due to many scientific researches he had to travel very often, so that Gary spent the most time with his mother or with his grandparents.
After his last journey Julian didn't return. Nobody seemed to know what happened to him, even though everyone who knows him is sure that he isn't dead.
And well, as you already know Aurelia tragically dies in a work related accident at Mt. Silver
After poor Prof. Oak lost his beloved daughter and wife and
had no clue about where his son went, only his lil grandson is left for him. … Sure thing that he has to take good care of him now.

Well, my interpretation of this family and how it appears in my FF !
This picture is when everything was still allright with the family, when Aurelia and Amber were still alive and Julian wasn't lost. Just like a cute photograph in front of Oak's lab.
I know, it's pretty sad, but that's life I guess

Amber's hairdo is inspired by little Sam Oak's hairdo from the fourth Pokémon movie xDDD

And guys please stop bugging me with Sarah/Daisy Oak. I didn't include her because she only appears in the manga/game. This more refers to the TV shows, that's why she's not there.

And I also wanted to say - it sounds like much tragedy and ...Amber's death and so on - but I will tell you something - It's not a coinscidence that Celebi plays an important role for this family. Amber's fate is not sealed yet.
