Description German rifle used throughout the second world war, this being a 1944 model. Features period markings and the correct wooden stock for the period (layered wood glued together then shaped) solid wood stocks slowly becoming less common by around 1940. The model features a bayonet and stripper clip with 5 rounds but will have a few more features eventually.

Model created for Traction Wars, a free to play ww2 FPS ( [link] [link] )

Quite a few hours work put into this.

what sort of poly count are you working with for marmoset? I made a K98 but only at 1.5k tri's but there were many of them, so didnt look half as nice as this so just wondering how well it runs? The bullet textures are very repeated but the main event (the gun) is great mate..

Excellent Karbine Kar98k. Have done any other rifles like this? Like Mosin nagants, Lee enfields, springfields, things of a World War Two nature. I'm a big history buff on the era and you did an excellent in modeling the main stay rifle of the third reich.

I noticed when I looked through your gallery. Also I noticed a few other favorites of mine. A PPSH-41 and Mosin Nagant are my personal favorites of the era.

ah, the good old Karabiner.
i love the way it turned out. i don't know what it is, but something about the model just makes it look really well done. maybe its the shading or something

nice work

marmoset is a great engine to render in - hopefully it should look nicer in the Cry Engine

I love texturing wood, far more difficult than metal, spent a lot of time on this.
