So the story with this one is that a very kind user, JinxazuMarai , caught the Kiriban at the same time as another of my friends. I did give it to both of them, but I was surprised by the kindness of Jinxazu telling me his request was that I draw one of my own characters as their reward, just to be nice and let me do something for myself. Since I couldn't take that at face value (for some reason,) I decided to compromise by dressing Nephryst in an outfit inspired by one of their characters. Picked Shina. :3
This one was a ton of fun, though, not just 'cause of it being Neph for once, but I got to experiment with the perspective rule for the background again. Plus, since that WIP of Nephryst has remained a WIP, this is the first time I've gotten to shade her and specifically take a crack at shading the tail crystals. Even though I regrettably didn't take the lineart all the way to perfection, I feel like I improve a few things in this one. Especially having to do with depth and lighting, and giving that a bit of a shot. I think this is my first try at an interior, too. It's kinda empty, so I'll definitely keep that in mind for future shots.
So yeah, lot of first tries, a whole lot that I learned and as always, still a whole lot to learn.Β Enjoy! :3

I love how you did the background around her. Nephryst looks adorable in the way she's sitting comfortably barefoot,
which is a nice plus.
I like the table design being unique, even the place she's at has that unique atmosphere that works really well.
Background drawing is also a challenge for me too. It's usually easier for me to draw background when depicting
action scenes. ^^
I also noticed the nice use of light source as it gets darker towards the background. That's a cool and interesting touch there.
Light source is something I'm also kind of still learning too. Overall a cool image that's nicely done.

She doesn't tend to wear shoes in a lot of her costumes, since she's not entirely used to having them. I think it makes for a nice aesthetic touch to designs as well. Β :3
Thank you though. It was fun playing with the lighting in this one. The one weakness of it overall is that the building is a little too empty. I'm wishing I had put more stuff in the background just to fill the space.

This is really great! The perspective looks awesome first of all. I'm envious of your background hehe i need to practice more of them >< That was sooo nice of the kiriban winner *^* people can be so lovely!! I'm glad you got to draw Nephryst, she looks great XD
Oh and one last thing, her sitting on the chair = awesome. A lot of times when a character is sitting on something, it somehow seems like they are floating in front of it rather than actually sitting on it. Like i feel like it's really a challenge to actually make them look like they are sitting down. I hope that makes sense but err anyway...she totally looks like she is seated comfortable! So kudos for that XD

I like when backgrounds actually come together, though I know that I wouldn't have gotten this one without the perspective ruler. XD
Come to think of it, I actually could've gone a little further with that sitting and added a shadow around where she's sitting, too, but it was fun playing with the shadows to try and make it look like she's actually grounded in the scene. :3
