What really strikes me here is the difference between your awesome sculpture and the background you add with the shadow effect..... I'm sure a simple picture with the original background like you've got with your other work would have been much better.
I'm sorry to say that, but I just wish to say my feelings about that, because to me the background has completely changed my look on your work and I think that's totally not the good thing here...

I'm amazed you managed to do all those frilly bits of tail without the wood snapping. I suppose the straight lines in the background creat a tension between the constraint of rigid geometry and the fluidity of water, on the point of breaking free.
