Lol every time I look at this drawing I keep thinking he has a thorn crown on his head XD like it was a withered away flower crown haha!
But dang you did nice job on the painterly effect. The brush strokes give this piece more character. I love the coloring of the skin. It has a nice combination of many colors :3

Thank you!! I wasn't sure how I managed it either @_@ I think I only slept 2 hrs every day that entire 10 days crunchtime before and during AX. It...was... harsh....
I touched it up a little this year so it has more depth!

What exactly do you sell at your cons? Is it just prints and whatever you have leftover of your artbook, or is there more?

yup I don't like to do portraits without changing or adding something conceptual to it (otherwise, there's no difference from artist to a good camera haha)
yup, mostly I just sell prints and a few books. Sometimes I sell at-con sketches, but not in recent years (been a bit too busy!)Β

Wow, so sorry I didn't reply to this. You should definitely try it! Fanart is what sells at cons though, so I'd recommend building that up. Also super cute acrylic charms! And yeah, unfortunately no Texas for me this year, but I'll see next year! I wouldn't mind tabling next to you if you get a chance next year C:

Yeah from what I've heard it's mainly been fanart that sells. And I'm actually wanting to make acrylic charms too! My best friend makes them all the time and I'm super excited to do some of my own!
Haha Texas is pretty far away. I don't know of many people that go to the cons here unless it's for SXSW (which was much fun to work in. I was with Wacom in the Interactive. So much cool tech coming out!)

It's great that you have friends who have some experience! I recommend helping out at a table at first to get a feel of it too. My friends' experiences volunteering were awful, so I'm glad you had a good time!
