Description one of the roads that leads to my parents house in central california.

I'm still not sure where 'home' is for me. i was born in the bakersfield area of southern california, but moved up north to chico at the age of six. i had a pretty good feeling of home there until i was 15 and my dad got transferred to seattle partway through my sophomore year in high school. i adopted seattle as home pretty easily, made great friends and took to the surroundings...but it wasnt enough to keep me because after graduation and a little bit of college i headed to atlanta, georgia. after a brief stint there i returned to california and my old 'hometown' of chico to pursue a pre-law degree...but alas that just wasnt me either. i returned to seattle last summer.....the city and surroundings feel like home. ive got a few good friends here... but my family is still in california....which is home...i guess.

anyway. im very homesick right now....i havent seen my dad since january. but hes flying me home on the 9th to celebrate my birthday/my moms birthday/fathers day/4th of july etc.... and this is the road ill be on soon. it may not look like much of a road, but it means a hell of a lot to me.

this is in Oakdale, SR 120 I think. Thats a great place for back road/rural photography. a lot of my rural pics are from there. If you decide to take a trip up there let me know and Ill fill you in on the sweet spots.

Really nice picture, and I'm from Corning, about 20 minutes (give or take) from Chico

thanks!! wow...Corning huh? Man I've been through there a million times. I have family in Willows, Sac, SF, and of course Chico so I know the place well. It can be pretty but for your own sanity I hope you dont stay in Corning long lol... even Chico got too small for me.

Beautiful shot, your words add so much meaning to it, but even without them it would still be beautiful. Great framing and perpective. Great work!

i like it. The commentary adds a lot! may i suggest something? (i'm going to anyways...) i think the photo looks kinda dark near the bottom half...have you considered messing w. the contrast there and bring out the grean and the yellow? just a thought

Lovely picture all the same !!!

Before reading your commentary I thought this was just a beautiful road photo.. Nicely framed with awesome tones..

But after reading your description I have to agree with you. Its more than a road.. A part of your life. And for that it makes it 100% better!

Great shot, and good luck! You'll have it all figured out one day. Until then, enjoy this road as it is beautiful!
