Description Weapons are so fun to draw :D

Trying to improve my understanding of color but I don't know if I'm making any progress. Finding guidance on it seems like some vague and formless thing, unlike more concrete stuff like anatomy and drawing in general.

Anyway, Fear No Anvil or Warhammer of Zillyhoo for "Best John Hammer ever OMG YES"? I can't decide...

I love the way you color! The way Fear No Anvil looks all scratched and beat up is just awesome. This is really fun to stare at.

You know, a lot of painting books have good advice. I bought a used one recently, want me to look through it more?

It's something I've been working on as well, I know color theory and the color wheel very well from Painting I and II, it's practice and remembering to apply it that's hard.

Hey youuu what's up? Hit me up on AIM sometime! It's been forever.

That'd be sweet if you could. I've never actually taken a class nor trained in color theory... and yet I went to an art school, so that tells you a lot about my "art education". Anything you can shoot my way to enlighten my ignorant ass would be appreciated.

Aw, yeah, I need more art friends. I mean, I have a bunch, but I could always use more, haha. Pft, a reason to actually get on AIM then. I really need to use Pidgin and sign up for all the accounts necessary, I usually just use GoogleTalk/Skype/Steam and Yahoo! only to talk to Nek0gami.

I've been following this guy recently for inspiration with digital painting, between that and 4chan's harsh Artwork/Critique board, it got me going "oh, yeah, right. I knew that stuff." [link]

I don't think you're ignorant, when it comes to expressions and character design, I still flip through your gallery for inspiration. I wish I still had, like, your really old PpG and Starfire and original fanart saved but oh well.

Heh, thanks I guess. All my old stuff just looks so bad though.

You only think it does, all artists think that way. XD

Whenever two artists get together, they play the "my stuff sucks more than yours" or "I wish I could X like you" game.

It's true about how hard it is to find sources to learn about light behavior! However, one of my good friends is really into the way light works and how to apply it to drawings. I could get you a link to one of her favorite websites if you'd like. I read a bit of it, it's some interesting stuff!

Thanks, that actually sounds pretty interesting! Every bit really does help. It's kind of hard to condense when seeing things in real life, or maybe that's just me overthinking it.

Here's the one from which my friend got her information: [link] It has boatload after boatload of information. You might also want to check out *purplekecleon 's color tutorial if you haven't already: [link] It doesn't go into the same depth, but it at least introduced me to the basic ways color can be used, and I still reference it from time to time.
