To be honest I like the MCC elites. The way they designed the elites make them seem ferocious yet civilized (unlike the Halo Wars elites, for example. the reach elites are okay-ish but their black eyes are weird.

I really get where your coming from. I always hated how 343 tried to make the elites look like monsters in some of the games. I like the Halo 2 anniversary elites the best, they seem so life like to me. Β

Thank you so much! I make a rough sketch, then I create a gray silhouette, which I use as a clipping mask in photo shop so my painting retains it's shape. hope that helps A lot of the shape comes from shadows to.
