Description Four cubes a varying size and density constructed from sticks. First in a series of works exploring form and how we perceive it.

The goal of this series is to take a well known and easily recognizable form and reproduce it to the point of abstraction.

SM: 2.25" = 425 matchsticks
M: 8" = 280 matchsticks
L: 16" = 140 6" dowels
XL: 24" = 46 10" dowels

Love it!! so inspiring and really impressive what did you use to attach the sticks together? Like what type of glue?

Standard wood glue for the little one and hot glue for the others. 5 years later and they're still holding up. Thanks for the comments.

interestingly enough, it could also be interpreted that you are trying to convey
the concept that atoms are mostly empty space, each step up in size being a magnification upon the first structure... which still relates to how we perceive objects and shapes...

Great job.

thanks for the comment. I never really thought of it that way, but that does make sense. Glad you liked it.

oOo
I'll admit, I've never been a fan of abstract, but this is cool
Reminds of of that the smallest cube might look like if it exploded evenly in all directions.

Thanks, that was kinda the idea. If you were to view the first and last independently, its my hope that the viewer does not immediately see the correlation.
