Description
I've decided to upload some of my pottery, an unshown side of me (and probably for a good reason, with some of the terrible stuff I've put out...If you can't tell, the random shape sticking out was a maple leaf (I do believe), and the rest of the vase is detailed with leaf imprints. The curved out leaf functions as a handle...unfortunately, the gorgeous red glaze I layered over the top of the coral orange had some chemical reaction which turned it into an olive color - not terrible, but dissapointing. Perhaps I layered it too thickly...
Oh, by the way, my granddaddd was nice enough to photograph these for me...he likes that sort of thing...

This is actually really nice, even if it didn't turn red the olive color compliments it wonderfully. I love the leaf idea

Nice shape. Same it's olive and not orange. I think it would have been great with a warm colour. The imprints came out really nicely.

No, unfortunately - I could sand off the first layer of glaze, but because there are two layers on there already, the effects would be risky, and I could also sand off the imprints of the leaves. So, it'll remain as is, sitting on my mom's desk in olive and orange. Ah, well.

this came out good, i took a ceramics class my freshman year and i couldnt get it down. I really like the details of the teztures in the leaf

I remember that reds and oranges were always extremely picky about actually turning out right. >> Nonetheless, i'm very impressed! The little bit of pottery I did was never anythign all that interesting when it came to the forms, this is cool! And I think I prefer the green to if it was red, anyway.
