Description Or lack thereof. I do not have a heart. Even if I did, it'd be ice cold 'cause I don't have a date! (Axel) Haha I am a tad upset about the snowflakes in my face

-Alex

It's been a while since we've put up any Roxas cosplay pictures! So here is one for all you Kingdom Hearts fans lol. This has absolutely no photoshop or editing. The snowflakes are REAL Lol, that doesn't make a huge difference, it's just for your information.

-Riley, the Master of Andy (with a pinch of Alex {not really})

"When I saw it the first thing I thought of was pole dancing." -Alex

"We spent a little too long on this one." -Riley

I could give you a quick "tutorial" if you'd like Ask more questions if you feel the need.

Materials:
-Bristol board
-Wooden dowel (a bit longer than you need)
-Styrofoam (The pink/blue type. I used a 1.5 inch thick sheet.)
-Wood Glue
-Chain (plastic or metal. I used a metal one, but I recommend plastic. It's con safe and won't beat up your keyblade if it happens to hit it.)
-Coat hanger wire
-4 Buttons (The kind without the holes)
-Drywall
-Primer
-Spraypaint

Tools:
-Knives
-Sandpaper
-Clamps
-Wire cutters

1. Find a reference picture. Preferably one with Sora in it to get the correct proportions. Measure out and draw pattern pieces on the bristol board. Give the pieces a bit of a slant. The Kingdom Key isn't made out of squarish shapes. (Make a pattern piece for half of the hand guard, the blade/key part (the one in the shape of the crown), and rectangular and trapezoidal pieces for the pieces around where you hold (they'll be carved and sanded into semi-cylindrical pieces).
2. Trace the pieces out on the styrofoam. Use knives to cut out the crude shape and shave away a little bit at a time. Don't go right to the line. Instead, sand (gently)away at the styrofoam until you get the right shape.
3. Cut the dowel to the right length and save the piece you cut off. Glue some sandpaper around it to use as a sanding tool.
6. Before gluing any pieces on, cut off a length of coat hanger wire. This is what you're going to attach your chain to the keyblade with. Bend the wire into a U shape and string the end chain link onto it. Glue the ends of the wire to an end of the dowel, using clamps to hold it in place. This will be the top of your keyblade.
5. The pieces that will be glued to the dowel need a curve sanded into the sides that will be touching the dowel. Use the dowel piece you cut off to sand the right curve into the pieces (The two sides of the hand guard, and the blade part). Glue these pieces on with wood glue one at a time, and use the clamps to hold the pieces in place.
6. Sand a little indent right below the hand guard. This is the small blue part of the keyblade. Don't sand too much, or it will weaken the prop.
7. Glue on the remaining pieces. (The cylindrical shapes that make the little bump in the middle of the hand guard and the parts around where you hold). To attach the Mickey Mouse head, cut a bit off the end link of the chain, and stick the ends of the link into the top of Mickey's head. Glue it into place.
8. Coat the styrofoam pieces in drywall. It doesn't have to look perfect (and definitely won't). Sand off the bumps and any other imperfections. Repeat this process a couple of times so you have a well-coated keyblade that's smooth and strong.
9. Glue the buttons onto the top part of the hand guard. (Where there's the circular shapes on the top instead of corners)
10. Put on a couple of coats of primer over the whole thing. (except the chain.)
11. Spraypaint it to your liking. I sprayed the whole thing black and covered parts with newspaper as I moved along. I then did the main shaft along with the Micky Mouse head and chain, covered that, and then sprayed the hand guard gold. The order doesn't matter.
12. Use a bit of metallic blue acrylic paint for the indent you sanded earlier.
13. Give it all a protective coat of clear spraypaint.

If you need anything cleared up, just ask

We get a lot of snow here, in our sub-northerly part of Canada If I'm not mistaken, I believe that was taken last year when the snow didn't melt til May

It's been warmer here lately, though. It was only February when the snow actually started melting. So early

This is a very good picture, I like how the eyes show up with the lighting. The flakes provide an excellent backdrop. Kudos!
