Description This wooden house can be found while walking trail from Miętusi Przysłop in Tatra mountains, Poland. It is always closed, but you can look through the cracks to see the old TPN (Tatra National Park) markings and signs. It looks very picturesque standing there alone in the dense forest. The last time I saw him, was after a very strong halny (foehn, strong mountain wind), which broke a lot of trees around the house. But the house stand still without any gap. Picture taken in January this year. The day was windy and rainy - my favorite weather when going for a mountain trip.

I'd love to see the inside!!!  That would be a great place to shelter for hikers stuck overnight.  Too bad it was locked.  I know in Alaska people do that a lot.  Have small shelters that are unlocked stocked with essentials and hikers leave behind what they can.

Wonderful idea! But here in Tatra National Park is not proper to stay till the night comes. For several years in the Polish part of the Tatras spaces exist the rule to not stay on trails from dusk to dawn. This is both for the safety of tourists and the protection of wild animals who need a break from people... And it's really better like that!

That is a good idea I think, you're right the animals need the break!!!  Does this rule get enforced or do the people follow the rules?

Usually. Ofcourse there are some penalties for those who don't respect the rules, but not for everyone because some people just were too tired to get back earlier or the dawn suprise them etc. But if, sometimes, groups of people make a night camping and set fire, protectors of TPN have to intervene. But not so often at all.
