when i saw this i was like"...Elven?" but it wasn't the Elven language i'm used to, the language of the Alagaesan Elves.

I'm a total Tolkien nut, so that's pretty much the only sort of Elven I know. Even then, I'm still not fluent in it.

Never really got into the Eragon series. It just didn't interest me.

I thought you'd be interested to see my translation of the poem: [link]
I don't want to sound harsh (I'm always thrilled to see someone learning Elvish), but I'd be curious to see the dictionary you used for your translation; many of these words look like Sindarin. Also, you should read about Quenya noun cases.
If you would like some reliable Quenya (and Sindarin) resources, take a look at [link] .

My dictionary comes from the back of a book I own called 'The Languages of Middle Earth'. It covers most of the 15 languages Tolkien invented for Middle Earth, but it isn't a complete dictionary. Some of the words I used didn't specify whether they were Sindarin or Quenya, so I just used them and hoped they were accurate. It's pretty much trial and error as I am not exactly fluent at the moment; I'm still learning. I plan on correcting my mistakes once I've got a better handle on the language.
