Description This is a previously submitted image. I have never liked the colour of the original so I decided to re-process it with new tools and hopefully new skills.

As it is located along the US Border, it forms part of the "Between Friends" Gallery.

The Term Ancient of Days appears in the prophet Daniel (7:9, 7:13, 7:22) and is a name given to God in which Daniel contrasts His eternal powers with the frail existence of the empires of the world. It is from these descriptions of the Almighty that Christian art derived its general manner of representing the first person of the Holy Trinity. Ancient of Days is expressed in Aramaic by Atiq yomin; in the Greek Septuagint by Παλιοσ Εμερον; and in the Vulgate by Antiquus dierum.

"When the Blessed Holy One is aroused to delight Himself with the righteous, the Face of the Ancient of Days shines into the face of the Impatient One. Its Forehead is revealed and shines to this forehead. Then it is called 'a time of favor' (Psalms 69:14). Whenever Judgment looms and the forehead of the Impatient One is revealed, the Forehead of the Ancient of Ancients is revealed; Judgment subsides and is not executed."
Idra Rabba, Zohar 3:136b

I haven't seen the original version of this but this looks very natural and relatively unedited.
An interesting piece of rustic architecture.

The straight horizon line that emphasizes the crooked building makes a dramatic composition.

It is a pretty old elevator. I am guessing close to 100 years old.

It looks to me that it is home made.

I think pretty much everything back then was "home made". But the design is not unusual for that period.

Personally, I think there is a yellow cast. Once again, processed on my old PC. Mac has better colour controls.

these grain elevators looks very interesting! i don't know how it looks like inside it... i don't even know how it works.. lol!

the walls still looks good, but it seems like it'll collapse any moment...

nice shot, indeed.. i with those who commented about the old and the new..

WayneBenedet In reply to jzmariluz [2008-03-05 20:36:17 +0000 UTC]

thanks Joyce,

I did not go inside myself. Most of what i shoot is on private property, so i try to be respectful. I am also vrey careful as some of the structures are in very poor shape. I shoot alone...(with my dog actually) but if I was to be hurt or injured, it would be a long time before i would be found, so I am very careful.

Great picture!
The grass looks so clean and new
It gives a feeling of
the new mixed with the old
It's like people say, the new things always have something old in them
We learn from the past
The barn is the past and the new grass grows up around it as it reaches for the heights of the old
Although the grass may be high, the old always shows through and shows what we should aspire to reach up to.
Very poetic picture,
Thanks for posting!
