I don't think you need to be concerned.  Lunar eclipses are a regular event.

Are u sure 2015 won't be the friggin apocalypse and does the moon turn red too from what I know it's the reflection of earths  sky or a reflection off of Mars

Best one I have seen of the red moon! The moon is sharp and the noise does not detract from that. Nice to know how to do moon pix for future reference!

it's cool to see but that 6400 ISO is killing me. /:

I do not like the noise, but it was less than the 12800 version.  And I have learned that in order to get the moon sharp a fairly fast shutter speed is required.  With a 1000mm lens you can actually see it move on the view screen.

Wow! Wha a great photo! I'm sorry that I couldn't see the lunar eclipse because it was day for me by the time this event happened. Well, maybe next time!

Great shot! I got up especially to see this, but it was hazy and it only looked like a sliver of the moon. Didn't see any red at all. Was a bit disappointed, but at least I have a good look at it through your photo.

for anyone who did get to see this morning's eclipse that actually was Mars to the right of the moon, and unfortunately out of frame on this photo.  got a good view in southeast TX with crystal clear skies the entire night, although a bit chilly.

We couldn't see it here in NJ due to cloud cover.

that is unfortunate.  That has happened to me a number of times.  I missed the super moon because of cloud.

WayneBenedet In reply to LightlyEve [2014-04-15 15:30:14 +0000 UTC]

were you able to get any shots?  I found it a real challenge, high ISO, wide open aperture and slow shutter speeds.  Not like taking a picture of the full moon at all.

LightlyEve In reply to WayneBenedet [2014-04-15 15:32:39 +0000 UTC]

No, I don't have the fancy camera for a shot.
I just enjoyed the moment though.

yes it was pretty cool.... literally... it was -14ºC here.

Out where I live it was in the low 40s  F
I love outer space.  When I was in Montana last Summer,
during the early AM hours, I'd go outside and be star gazing for
a half hour or so, however, it got a bit chilly for me to enjoy the
starry night as much.  Montana Summer nights are quite chilly!

WayneBenedet In reply to LightlyEve [2014-04-15 23:59:22 +0000 UTC]

I have not been to Montana in years.  I always loved visiting, there is still a sense of the old west that hangs about the place.  maybe it is time to visit again.

LightlyEve In reply to WayneBenedet [2014-04-16 11:59:27 +0000 UTC]

I notice you're from Canada. I live in Idaho.  That's why I can visit
Montana every Summer.  Yes, there is the Old West feeling in
Montana.  I love the Big Sky every time I there.  I get this sense of
freedom.  I look some great pictures last Summer during a storm of
a double rainbow.  That's when my camera does it's magic for me.

WayneBenedet In reply to LightlyEve [2014-04-16 13:45:11 +0000 UTC]

yup, Canada eh...!!! lol

I actually live 12 miles north of North Dakota.  I had forgotten that Montana is Big Sky Country.  I think because it is about the same up here, wall to wall sky.  The sense of history and the pioneering spirit is important to me somehow.  Maybe that is why Montana calls.

I didn't see any photo's in your gallery, but I think your barns are cool.

LightlyEve In reply to WayneBenedet [2014-04-16 16:19:07 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I will submit new photos as time goes by.
I'm not a professional photographer, however, I enjoy
taking pictures.  I'll be at Montana this Summer and
will post some photos here.
I'm glad you like my barns.  Thanks for visiting my gallery.
I'll check if you're on my watch.

Slept like a baby
It was huge and amazing rising up but I figured it would suck by the time of the eclipse so I didn't bother
Was wishing I could get out of town.

I had some trouble with the light even here.  I was wishing there was less light, but I was not about to drive out in the cold.
