You certainly find quite a few abandoned places :/ Why are there so many such places in Finland? I want to visit the land of my mom one day, but for now I know very little about it.

Emptying countryside is one thing. Only biggest farms survive. Also some fields of industry no longer 'make it' hence the abandoned industrial sites. etc.
