Description I was so lucky to have Cody over when I was baking in the kitchen! He was SO helpful to take everything out of the cabinet, so I could get to the bowl I needed! Then he made sure to bang the pans to see if they were secure enough to use

Or, in my case, baking with Great Aunt Phyllis!!! Cody is so precious. He is dearly loved in the family!

Hahaha!  Start 'em young.  My kids have been next to me cooking since they could sit upright on the counter.  They both love cooking now and they're 10 and 14.

I baked when I was ten-years old. Although, admittedly, it seems like ten-year olds were a bit more mature then than they are today. I remember once when I baked a cake for dessert and before it was served, my dad asked "who baked this?" When he found out I baked it he was willing to eat it. He didn't always feel that way about my sister baking!

When my son was five-years old he would take a frozen breakfast meal out of the freezer, sit up on the counter and heat it in the microwave. I didn't think about it much at the time but when I think back to 1980 it kinda give me a chill!

I've had some horrific health issues over my lifetime, so it was truly helpful when my daughter could come home from middle school and cook dinner for everyone. To this day she cooks up a storm!

I agree, but it all depends on the kid too.  My daughter is ten right now, and she has two cousins the same age.  All three are completely different.  One cousin doesn't know how to cut her own meat on her dinner plate and the other cousin is almost on par with my daughter.  Just not as comfortable because he hasn't been doing it as long.  My dad always pretended like the food was poisoned if he knew I made it.

I think your daughter and I would get along.  I've been the same.  My grammy taught me how to cook and I've never stopped.  I love cooking and I used to cook to help my mom out (when she'd let me).  I'm proud that my daughter is following that tradition.

On Cody's birthday he got ALL these wonderful gifts and what did he want to play with? My cane, the gift bags and rocks he could pick up and put in the gift bags! Who needs fancy toys? Kids make their own fun

Of course! Nothing like a BIG box to play in!! When my sister and I were little and something big was delivered we would make a fort out of the box. Loved it!!!!

Cody does seem to like coming here. There is room to wander and a huge porch to play outside. He is a joy to have around
