We are never too old to be a kid at Disney Land or to participate in other fun adventures.

The one bad thing about November in Florida is that it can be unpredictable. In summer, you can always count on it to be hot. But when we've gone in November (for the last 2 years now, going on 3 this time), there are days when the temperature gets into the high 80s and 90s, but then there are some days when it doesn't get out of the 50s. Last year, we had a day where it was 40s and windy. I've learned that in fall/winter, you've got to bring a hoodie, even if it is Florida.
I never get to try a lot during the Food and Wine festival, though in my case it's money that is the factor. Last year was a little bit better because they've changed it to where some of the festival items can be bought on the dining plan, but there's still definitely a limitation there. It's still fun, though. I got to try Ouzo for the first time there, and there were other good dishes I never would have been able to try otherwise. Even if you don't get anything, it's fun to walk through the World Showcase and get to smell all the different foods.
I thought about upgrading to the standard dining for us, but I worry that not everyone in the party will use all the meals, and it'll be wasted. I'm not as worried about that with Quick Service (since we got it for free, and we wouldn't be out of any money if meals go unused). But I'd love to try doing standard dining one time. I know that usually, if they're offering free quick service and you want to upgrade to standard, all you pay is the difference in price. I've already got a Fastpass for the Seven Dwarfs ride, but when I go in November, I actually don't use the Fastpasses very much (surprisingly, I find that I really don't need them most of the time - the crowds are pretty light then).

Oh, the FastPasses for the Seven Dwarfs ride are going really fast. I went to get them 60 days out, and even then, they were already all gone for every day except the last, and that in the afternoon. There's going to be some ridiculous lines there, but I guess that's par for the course. I remember when I went last year, Test Track had just re-opened, and the lines were pretty crazy. I discovered that the trick is to find out when the park has extra hours in the morning, and just go straight to the ride on that day as soon as the park's open to resort guests.
Incidentally, I found a sort of "line hack" for Test Track. You know how there's the really long group line and the shorter "single rider" line? I think people don't want to ride the single rider line sometimes because they don't have those stations for customizing the vehicle. But there's a way around that. If you go into the exit area (it's a shop, so there's no rule against it) you'll find one of those customization stations there. You can completely customize your vehicle there, load it onto the Magic Band, and then go into the single rider line, and poof! You have your completely customized vehicle, and you still can use the short line.
My dilemma about the Quick Service plan is that there are some Dine-In places I always want to go to (namely the Rainforest Café in Animal Kingdom and T-Rex in Downtown Disney), so that's a meal I pay for and an unused meal on the plan. And the quick service portions are really large, so some days I don't even use two meals (because I'm not hungry enough to need them).
I really haven't noticed any bad bugs in November (and I'm pretty bug-ophobic, so I'd notice if they were there), so at the time you're going this year, you might dodge that bullet.

I think about getting together with you all the time. Would like to get out to California but not sure if I ever will. I'm hoping to do okay at WDW this year. I would love it if you could go to WDW some time. The resorts are fabulous and some are really affordable. Have you not being going to Disneyland?

People have to buy packages to be able to afford a trip these days due to the cost of a one-day pass. Staying in a Disney Resort and getting the Dining plan free, along with purchasing a multi-day park pass makes the trip easier to handle and more affordable. Tina and I use a travel agent that does nothing but Disney-related trips then we get our own airline tickets. For us, it is the only way to travel to WDW!
