Description My grandniece Alexus (Lex for short) asked me to do a drawing of a Monkey for her friend for her birthday. Was able to make a drawing of a "real" monkey and a cartoon one. I chose this animal from an array of monkeys from a Google Search as I needed a "real" animal to use as a reference. The picture of the drawing was taken on Tina's porch. I liked how the background looked, so I cropped it leaving some of the porch slats in the picture and beveled the edges in PhotoShop Elements VI to make it look like a frame.

Thank you ~ had to use a reference as even though I can picture a monkey in my head I cannot seem to transfer that image from my brain to the pencil

You're welcome, and I understand what you mean. I love cats, but do you think I can draw one from how I picture it in my head . . . sure wish I could.

I actually had to take pictures of Mink from different angles before I could paint him for my grand nephew. You'd think I could figure it out with the cat just laying beside me!!!!
