A full rework of an old OC!

She finally got a name too. 😊 Yfelyn is Aruyda and Araon’s mother. She and Kawrok had a story in the past but are “happily” divorced ever since. Yfelyn ended seeing the scary ambitions of her husband and how dangerous he became. She tried to stop him but unfortunately was trapped and failed. No one knows what happened to her or if she’s still alive, but she couldn’t save her children from their father and his experiments.

Yfelyn is a guardian protecting the Twilight Realm from the Interlopers and some other nasty beings, though her range of action goes beyond the floating islands. In my headcanons, there are no divine beasts like in Hyrule. The "beast" that Yfelyn controls is some sort of "vessel" inhabited by what the Twili people call the protective spirits. The pilot of the vessel is called a guardian, not a champion.

The spirits can be summoned within the vessel once its current guardian went through different challenges and got blessed by them. Then it can change its shape depending on the spirit that takes control. The combinations are technically infinite since the body of the vessel is made of twili material and magic components/runes, a bit like the ones Yfelyn has in her hair. She can canalize several spirits so far, often switching between the owl and the snake shapes that are her favorite. But this ability costs a big amount of energy and can be hard to control. To help, she has a fused shadow helmet that makes the process less exhausting.

P.S.: It is possible that the Twili heard about the Sheikah and Zonai technology many centuries ago, if their ancestors were not banished to the Twilight Realm yet, but these are rumors only at this point.
