The Horns of the Hulva come in many shapes and styles, from antlers to ram-horns and everything in between!

The horns are normally adorned with beads or small orbs. Each color represents a partnership with another Hulva, usually these two share hunting patterns and work together more often than not. They also rear foals together.

All Hulvine are female(!), in order to reproduce they must find stallions with which to breed.

The area around a Hulva’s mouth is darker, usually black or red. Almost akin to lipstick.

Hulvine relationships are not born out of love, instead they are born out of mutual gain. Hulvine culture shuns those who feel affection or love, believing it weak and fruitless.

Hulva often refer to their ‘neck mouth’ as their wound, or heart.

Hulvine are able to do a small amount of magic, usually telekinesis, but occasionally they are able to do simpler spells. Generally the strength of their magic depends on their father’s species and bloodline.

Hulva often induce a sort of insane lust in the stallions they infect, this furthers the spread of their seed and creates the potential for multiple offspring from one breeding.

Characteristics present in ALL Hulva:

Horns of some type.

Lack of a normal ‘mane’

Cloven Hooves (same color as their horns)

Long ‘traditional’ unicorn type tail, the hair at the end is their horn color.

True Mouth on the neck or further down on the chest. (Typically the latter)

The Inner color of the True Mouth is typically their eye color
Lipstick like coloring along the lips of the True Mouth and False Mouth alike.

Eyeshadow-like markings above both eyes, color is typically either an accent or a darker shade of their base coat.

1-8 spines along the back. Length varies.

The Hulva Creation Myth

The Hulva believe that their mother, their creator, was a unicorn who found her lover with another mare. She was so infuriated and so hurt by her lover’s betrayal that she tore her own heart out. Despite this she continued to live, her hatred and pain keeping her alive. Still enraged she found the mare who had taken her place and murdered her, tearing her to bits and feeding on the dead mare’s entrails. Disgusted with herself, she returned to her lover, begging for him to take her back. Of course, he was horrified with the creature she had become. Spurned once more she attacked him. He did his best to defend himself, but she overpowered him and tore out his heart as well.

Her anger finally spent, she took his heart and placed it where hers once was, in the gaping wound of her chest. Thus the first of the Hulva was born; Creatures of hatred and pain who love nothing more than causing sorrow to those who feel love like they cannot.
