Some may argue that a T-Rex would be as terrifying as a stalking hunter just as much as being a charging, roaring behemoth of a king. Given the circumstance that is given, I would say that a T-rex would be scarier than any werewolf or slasher that come bumping in the night.

Imagine if you were strolling around in a park at night...for whatever reason. Your stroll has been enjoyable, and the night has been quiet. Almost...too quiet. You feel a slight tremor under your feet, but it's not hard enough for you to see it as any real danger. Just to be on the safe side, you take a look around. Then, much to your shock, there it would be. A silhouette of a massive animal, shown slightly by the light of a lamppost near a bench.

You couldn't believe it --- an actual dinosaur! You've heard of them being on an island somewhere, but you never heard of one being on American soil (Or ANY civilization, for that matter). What is more eerie about this encounter is that it moved so silently despite its size. Since it's a T-rex, you have an idea that if you stay still, it wouldn't see you. That theory is proven wrong instantly once you realize it's looking directly at you.

No sound ever comes out of the predator's jaws. No growl or roar that broke in the night. It takes one, mute step closer towards you. It's enough for you to turn tail and run; only for the beast to do the same. Those silent steps soon grow into earth-shaking stomps, with the T-rex quickly catching up to you.
