Everyone, meet the one month old 'Kibibi'. She is an Okapi, a close relative of the Giraffe. Her name means 'Little girl' in the language of the country she originates from (Congo), more specific, the Ituri rainforest.

It's very hard to breed with these animals and because no-one knows how many of them are in the wild, it's quite important to keep these animals alive in the zoo. Not many zoo's actually breed with them or hold them, because they are really hard to keep. Kibibi however is the 40th foal in Blijdorp (Rotterdam Zoo). This is an amazing number and everyone is very proud...

So, I decided to share her with all of you!
