Description
A commission done for me byAfter seeing so many "OC" Sonic characters, I felt it was
time I had my own. Thanks to Extra-Fenix , I now
have one. His name is Eryx, (pronoucned eh-roo-ks).
I named him after the Eryx from Greek Mythology, who
was a great boxer. He enjoys a good fight and his
fighting style is a mix of Kickboxing and Jeet Kune Do.

K was mine too. When Eryx was first created, I didn't know what to do for a outfit. I had asked for minor changes here and there but the artist just went straight up "copy and paste." His alternate outfit is a bit more original and i have one more outfit for him in the works but there's no telling when it will be done. The artist hasn't gotten back to me.

i hope the artist DOES get back to you on that ^^ I'm sure on during
a time where I'm free to sit and just draw, I could help with drawing your
character as a gift to you. I'd hate to even suggest my commissions because
you sound like you've spent enough already haha i could do just a lineart for ya

Yup and I wanted to say something but I just decided to stay silent. Eryx was finally created and he did look cool so I accepted it as is. He was also my first Sonic OC so I was so happy with how he turned out. To my surprise, not many people knew about KoF. You and that other person were the only ones to catch on.
I hope they do. The outfit that's in the works is...I want to say simple. It's not all that detailed or...what's the word? Exotic? Crazy? I mean, it's just simple jeans, boots, and a sleeveless hoodie. Simple but I think it will look good on him. Hehe, yeah I do tend to get a little worried when they don't reply. I hope they get back to me as well. T_T
Wow, that is so very kind of you. I would really like that. Yeah, just whenever you are in the mood to draw, that would be cool and hey, I don't mind looking at that commissions guide. I'm always looking for commissions and this month, I met my limit but believe me, I would definitely be interested next month. I would be very interested in a lineart. yeah I've had trouble with being a commissionee. This one time, i paid a comm like a year before the artist came back and said they wouldn't do it. And when i asked for a refund of my money, they still, to this day, have not gotten back to me. You know ArtFox23? yeah, i'm pretty pissed that i have not received my money from her, so i'm assuming she stole it.

You're not the first person to mention something like that about ArtFox23. I believe I was a watcher of them for awhile before more and more post about her stealing started popping up. I think there was even a time I was going to commission her for something but that's when I started noticing all the post and comments. After that, I just shook my head and moved on to someone else but I've been in your situation with other artist. I believe it's happened to me about 3 times. There was nothing I could do, so I just took it as a lost. I try to be a bit more careful about who I commission. I check out there commission work, their "to do" list, and if available, I read reviews from other people. If things look legit, I'll contact them. I also give them about 2 months to either finish or provide a WIP. If not, I file a complaint with Paypal and get my money back. So far I haven't had to file a complaint but I'm sure that will change soon. Maybe with the person who is doing my current Eryx commission.Β

I sure hope it does. Eryx is a boxer/street fighter and that's how he earns his living but uh...lol you can laugh at this if you want but I'm thinking about making Eryx work at a deli. Like one of those old fashioned deli's that is run by Italian wise guys. The owner used to feed Eryx when he was a kid living on the streets. I don't know why but for some reason, I want to make that into a story. Sorry, I wandered off there again. Hmmm, the original reference...I think it was this one.

I never intended for him to have the red gauntlet though. Both gloves were going to be finger-less gloves, he wasn't going to have the neck chocker, and his belt buckle is the same used here werewolfconfess.deviantart.com⦠. The artist had forgotten and just did that simple belt buckle lol. Again, thank you so much and take your time, there is no rush at all. You don't know how much this means to me. Thank you so much. good system that helps you know who's legit and who's not! I guess I should

I feel ya. When I think back to it, I can't help but get mad. Then I tell myself, "What can you do?" And the answer is always the same...nothing. Things are different now though. I made sure of that. Strangely enough, there is some comfort in finding out you weren't the only one who was robbed.
Well, when it comes to paypal, you have 180 days to file a complaint on a transaction but only on transaction that were made by paying for a service. I learned never to do the "sending money to friends or family" button. If you do it through that, then Paypal won't help you.

You're very welcome. I hope such a thing doesn't happen again but if it does, you can definitely do something about it. I know by doing this, you might come across an artist who will get upset or mad but they have to realize that you are covering your own ass. (pardon my language) You work hard for what you got and you aren't just going to let it go. If they can't understand what you're doing then it's best to take your money back and move on to someone else. When I commission people, I like to think of it as a contract. I'm hiring them to perform a task for me. When they asked for payment, I didn't give them any excuses, I pay up. If they wish to be paid after the work is done, I still offer to pay them half up front as a way to show my commitment to the deal. After being burned 3 times, I've become very cautious with who I "hire". Again, I'm not trying to be rude or mean, I'm just being cautious. Thankfully the recent artist I've hired for my current commissions have been very understanding. There are those that have owed me art since last year and they've given me excuses for why they haven't delivered and at first, I was like, "yeah, that happens", "I understand" and so on and so but after awhile, it gets old. It's those who I will never work with again. *sigh* I hope I didn't come off as a jerk just now. Its just...getting robbed by someone you thought you could trust, it hurts. (sorry for the long reply on that.)
The artist who is working on Eryx's new outfit, her name is 13VOin . She did such an awesome job with Mackenzie, I had to have her work on other stuff. She does have quite the long list though but, I like her and I know the work will be well worth the wait. I loved the work she did for you. I found Aeon through her gallery. Seeing Aeon on that futuristic motorcycle is what made me want a commission from 13VOin and its also what made me fall for her. Again...Aeon is such a badass. XD

No you're not being rude at all. Not one bit. It's the artist's fault if
they steal or cause a lot of unnecessary problems, and we (as people
who commission them) need to be mutually respected and not taken
advantage of. So it's only fair that we must be cautious.
Oh i love 13VOin ! She's absolutely amazing and i really hope she is doing

Cool, that's actually a relief to hear. I was hoping I didn't sound too pushy or business-like lol. When it comes to commissions, I would like it to be a great experience for both parties. It's a way to build trust and maybe even friendship. That's probably why when someone cheats you out of your money and art, it stings a lot more.
Me too, she's awesome. Yeah, I haven't heard from her in awhile so I too hope she is okay. She did an amazing job with Mackenzie and seeing that is what made me want to ask for more lol. I'm pretty far down that list though and it's cool. I don't mind waiting, especially when I know it's going to be good. Still, a slight bit of that paranoia slips in. It feels like as far as Western Society knows, only those active within the fighting game community know about it, or those who started out playing their first games. Otherwise most people haven't payed it much mind, it's a pretty huge deal in Japan though. KoF 13 is definitely one of the most technical fighting games I've ever touched.

Yeah, I like to think his fighting style is based off Yugo the Wolf's fighting style from Bloody Roar; who uses boxing, kickboxing, and even Jeet Kune Do in the sequels. I definitely have a couple plans to have him in his boxing attire. Not sure when they will be out or even worked on for that matter, but I imagine it will be real soon.
