The order was that both girls look hopeful and happy but Robin has to feel or portray a sense of dread. That his happiness could spell the end for the Titans no matter which direction he goes. My thought was that Robin would be caught between two worlds with these girls, conveyed through the background as a corner between a bright nightclub and the dark alley alongside it. I think the intention gets across pretty well.
Having just gotten done with an extended commission starring Starfire as a Green Lantern, I wanted to do something different with this version of Starfire, so I redesigned her look a bit.

I love Star's new uniform here. It's elegant in a way and suits her personality. The divide between the two is really natural here as well with lots of great contrast. Even though the girls appear happy this is a really moody piece, and you got those feelings across without a problem.

Robin's either the luckiest boy on the planet or the unluckiest. And yeah you portray the contrast between the two 'worlds' beautifully. Great job Gaff. I like how you gave both Raven and Robin original costumes. It looks like it could fit into the YJ Universe or a standalone one.
Hey Robin why dont you take a third option and choose both. The more the merrier right?

Hmm, I'd still go with Starfire. Sharp and witty can get tiring and competitive after a few years whereas you NEVER get tired of big'n friendly.

Actually, we talked of a possible alternative lifestyle for these three early in the process. My feeling was since western society isn't big on it and since Robin is neither a player or pimp, he is doomed.

Basically, it's two of Robin's friends who want to be more then friends...at the same time. Both consider themselves the obvious choice. Hence, Robin is screwed.
