Very well done. I like how Rachel's face has the bear nose for some reason.

Aaaaah, fantastic portraits-- all six of them! I'm not too versed in the Animorphs series, but I love the liminalism between man and animal and I think you captured that beautifully here. I love the uncanniness of some of them... it's hard to tell where the man ends and the animal begins, which is a cool detail. Naturally, these grizzly and gorilla shifts are my favorite... one's about to WRECK SOME SHIT, and the other is definitely a quiet protector. Nice work, Dood!

Thank you! Animorphs has always been a favourite of mine, so I love getting to visualize that part of my childhood (and hopefully push it to animation)!
Rachel's grizzly is my ALL TIME fave, but I think I'm actually liking Ax with his andalite. It's the 'most human' and makes for an interesting blend.

You're very welcome! And I know right, the concept of morphing into a GRIZZLY BEAR or alien is pretty staggering. Gosh, I'm so excited to someday read this series! After you and another friend explained it to me, it sounds like a ton of fun. <33

It also contains vastly different stories, depending on the age you read it. I started as a kid, and focused mainly on the 'being animal' side of it (Cassie was also my favourite because animal lover/tree hugger). As I came back to it as an adult, I really saw the war, PTSD, SERIOUS CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, and brilliant character contradictions. Ahhhh... there's so much that is amazing about the series!

Came for animals, stayed for the powerful narrative! I've gotta say, that sounds so exciting-- I must definitely give this series a shot someday, because it sounds like a series that speaks to all ages. Funny how it carries such weighty topics! Looking at the covers, you'd never guess that, huh?

Hahaha, pretty much!
No, I'm pretty sure it blindsided everyone at first. And I'll be honest, the more serious (and disturbing) tones to the series didn't really come through until I was much older. Goes to show kids can handle serious stories.

Hahah oh that's just so awesome! I have HEAPS of respect for series targeted as kids and teens who still manage to work in mature themes and concepts-- young folks aren't dumb, and they deserve intelligent writing too. Suddenly I regret not picking up these books as a kid. I remember always being so flustered about the sheer VOLUME of books. And our libraries never had the first ones!

Haha, fair enough. There are... quite a few. They had an anthology at one point that you could read online.
I'm just testing this link real quick: www.mediafire.com/download/yx3…
It works! Perfect! Now I have a digital copy along with all my hard copies! (I spent several years collecting all 64 books!) Let me know if it works for you!

I also just e-mailed Scholastic, asking what it would take to make an animated series!

We do have some more serious animated series out now, so an animated Animorphs would be awesome! Hell, Disney's poking their roots into different genres now so I could very well see them picking it up... though they may do it live-action a la Agents of Shield and such. I think some studio ought to look into it, there's a lot of reboots and sequels now so why not turn to adaptations eh? <33

Ah and that download worked, fantastic! Thank you so much, Dood! This is a lot of exciting reading material, so I really appreciate it! Finally... a good reason for me to get an iPad someday, haha.

They did live action once... it was kind of terrible. I feel like animated would really do the aliens and areas justice. Live action didn't work as well. Plus, with animated, I feel like we can delve into the gore a little bit more without making it Daredevil levels of violence. So yeah... I'm definitely trying to create it, haha!

Whoohoo! You'll have to let me know your thoughts as you go along! I'd love to hear them!
