Thanks! That's oil paints, in the traditional style. Another painting I did is wet on wet, so a little different from this one.

The colors and texture are amazing!
The angle of his head and he lighting seem perfect! CX
But his legs all seem a bit off. In front his far leg is to big, and the near one to small. They'd both look best somewhere in the middle. Also, the near leg looks extremely short.
The angle you have him at, it would be better if you open the far wing a bit to make him look less flat. Also because the far leg suggests his shoulder would be elsewhere.
The back legs also have the same size problem, though they are close to right, just be sure the closer one isn't smaller than the far one. CX The foreshorting on that back legs seems a bit to dramatic. It's hard to tell that it's supposed to be longer.
Still, I love the picture, and this guy! Make him more often. =3

Thanks! I used a photo reference of a lion for the whole body, so I'm not sure what would have messed up in there. Leg positions are so hard to do! I'm glad you like him! Would you ever be interested in a contest with him? I plan to do one eventually!

Oh, thank you so much! I noticed that it has all the primary colours too! This creature is called a heroc. I thought he was my own invention originally, but then somebody told me about hurroks, which are Tamora Pierce's creations. I only got the name from her though! The creature is still mine, because I believe people can get the same idea and still be original!

True that! I believe that everything a person comes up with is original because not everyone has the same way of thinking about something. Some things interest some, but not others. If you get that lol. And I've never actually heard of hurroks until just now btw D: Good job either way though! ^^
