Description "The grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never dried all at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls."

John Muir

The Grand Canyon is one of the most breathtaking things I have ever seen in my life - nothing prepared me for the scale - and no matter how long I stared - I was looking straight into it - I could not help but feel small. In fact, I became acutely aware of the transient nature of life, and my own mortality. I stood and looked - for hours I stared into this thing. Two days we spent at the edge of the canyon - two days of such natural splendour that I will always be in awe of this place...

You had a beautiful sky that day. It certainly helps the intensity and beauty of the colors.

The title is very true... I've only seen it from the air while flying out to California once, and even then it was breath-taking.

I think this is one of those things I'm going to need to see to believe because it just looks soooo surreal. Your colours in this are phenominal, I love the blue in the sky contrasting with the reds and browns... oh it's so earthy! Great clouds as well. This is honestly just phenominal... great job

Straighten out your horizon Sorry, I had to be the one to say it!

What really surprised me about this place is how difficult it is to try and capture in a single frame It's like it's not real - even when you are looking one mile down
