This was made for the Triple threat Loki contest here: [link] The challenge was to do something Loki either Jotun, Lady or Kid and I chose Jotun Loki because I had no ideas at all for the other two.

I really love my little Loki, despite the utter pain the arse it was to sew in each individual hair on his head. Originally I wanted to make his clothes highly detailed and was going to make his adornments with gold fimo, however after finishing his hair and realising how cuddly he was I decided to do it with felt so he was nice and soft.

His tunic under the jacket and his sash attach with press studs so they can be removed easily but still stay in place.

He’s by far one of the most expensive crafts I’ve ever made purely because of his hair. It’s made with black embroidery silk, my local poundshop sells a cheap packet of 20 different coloured silks for £1 but there’s only 1 black in each packet, it still works out cheaper than travelling into town and buying them from the craft shop. There is some dark browns mixed in the underneath to give it some texture.

It’s almost impossible to tell from the photograph but the eyes don’t match, I did have two other sets of matching red buttons but they were too large and only had two holes instead of four and they looked wrong.

A price break down is like this:

Body material: blue pillow cases £2
Clothing: black cloth and yellow felt, already had in craft box
Hair: 15 reams of black silk £15
Misc: threads, stuffing, buttons, bands, £3

Total: £20
