Zuko is terrible at pretty much everything though. He has no firebending skills or for the first two seasons a moral compass. He's my favorite character but he lacks the glitter of a Stu. Everything always backfires for him too. He never has the ability to coast like a Stu. KATARA on the other hand is a Mary Sue. She's a master waterbender like THAT, the hero loves her at first sight, everything always works out for her, she lost her mom too but unlike Zuko she brings it up constantly, etc. I mean I like her an all but she's a Mary Sue.

I disagree. Throughout the anime, he is shown as a powerful bender, especially in the third season. I don't see why you would think he isn't, but I guess his awkwardness may cover it up. However, that's completely irrelevant. He is mentored by great firebending masters (Ozai in his early years, Iroh when he's a teenager) and learns the ways of firebending from the last two dragons on Earth. Sure, lots of things backfire on Zuko, and yes, he does lack the glitter of Stu, but I'm surprised that you responded so... irrelevantly. I'm sorry, what does Zuko's incorrectly-thought-of-as-nonexistant firebending skills and Katara's Mary Sue-ness have to do with my statement?

And yes he is terrible at firebending the majority of the time. In the first few episodes alone he does basic moves and fails at them greatly. In his first SEEN Agni Kai he wins only by making Zhao trip not overpowering him. He can't bend lightning unlike everyone else in his entire family (aside from his mother but it is unknown if she is a firebender). Yes he was taught my masters but so was Aang only Aang was taught by only TWO masters (the dragons) not three and still learned faster than Zuko. If Zuko was a Stu he would have instantly been as good as Azula because of that. Zuko does progress in his bending yes but even then he can't do jet propulsion like Azula, Ozai, Jeong Jeoung, and possibly Iroh if you count the rock hurtling all the White Lotus members at Ba Sing Se. The most impressive firebending displays he does are always at the very ends of the seasons and after those fights when you see him bend again he's basically returning to average level.

Hmmm... The sad thing is is that great pieces actually do come out of random mistakes like dropping a marker on a piece of paper.
But, the point is that he's a stu, so every freaking thing he does is amazing and awe inspiring, right?

lol does he also fart rainbows and craps out cures for incurable diseases? And he sparkles in the sunshine and he smells of axe cologe even though he never wears any and even though he never shaves he is completely hairless. Like COMPLETELY hairless.
