hm....honestly, the first skull sketch came out this way, I did like the proportions so the only references used were mainly for details and materials. Crow skull and chicken skull (so I could combine it better with the wings )

I love the position and the lighting, it gives the piece a fantasy atmosphere
The feet give a relaxed impresion though her head/face/expresion are disturbing, but i imagine that's what hatching without an egg is about... yep, it made my imagination fly for a while
