Oh my gog, YESSSSSSS. I just rediscovered these books from my childhood and I bought them off Amazon in time for Halloween. Dunno if you ever heard of them but they're called "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" by Alvin Schwartz. In the older version the illustrations are done in pen and ink by Stephen Gammell and this reminds me of them SO MUCH. So deliciously creepy.
