“Are you crazy?!” I hissed. The next horse let out a demonic squeal as it lunged into the ring, spinning in circles until dizzying the crowd. She was only a yearling and already looked to be nearly seventeen hands. A glance at her incomplete pedigree gave the reason why, sired by the mighty Rock Hard Ten, out of a mare of questionable lineage. She wasn’t going for any less than Rocky’s stud fee of $25,000 and when bidding began, the audience was like stone. The Lane’s End staff felt a cold knot form in their stomachs, this filly was not gaining any attention from buyers. Right when she was about to be deemed unsold, Danny raised the fee to $30,000 and the blue eyed filly sprinted out of the ring.
“Your insane.” Danny rolled his eyes.

Other: We always said we would never put the word Devil in the name of a horse. We may regret this but hey she’s a beautiful girl none the less! When she stepped into the ring we knew she was going to get huge! Rock Hard Ten foals usually get pretty big and share his stubborn attitude. Rocky apparently had a brief affair in another pasture when a storm knocked out the power to the electric fences, his mother has no known pedigree, most likely where the sabino gene came from. Her markings were striking, so we went for it. She kicks, bites, screams, bolts, refuses to stop in workouts, attacks other horses, it will be a miracle to get her calmed down enough to race her. But until she grows into that lanky frame she won’t be competing.
Build: A blue eyed devil for sure and a big girl. Long and slender of leg with big feet, nostrils and eyes, ears are usually pinned to the side of the head. Pretty deep in the barrel, big in the hip with roomy hindquarters, a bigger neck than almost any of our colts this year.
