This only took me an hour! Oddly enough Dillinger's Deuces is the only one of my horses actually listed in the HArpg stallion directory. My stable is in the list though, how exciting!

So funny that his body looks just like my trainers Swedish Warmblood Gelding! I have a picture of him doing Piaffe that's almost identical, but he's chestnut Lovely work as always!

Yeah I went for a pretty generic pose, lazy as always, but he came out very nice
I also made this horse a little leggy compared to an actual Andy, he is supposedly a little taller than average.

Nah, its a wonderful pose And most all my horses are taller than average I like big ponies!

My TB stud was being mistaken as an Andalusian because the trainer riding him was showing him with a bunch knee action... IDK how people came to that assumption even with the knees, but he is very much a TB

I think the neck would be a dead give away, andy's have crazy big necks, whereas TB seems to have a narrower neck.

Well, he's a stud... so compared to all the other TBs they see, he has a massive neck... and the JOWLS on this boy... something to behold

WickerWolfArt In reply to Huntress614 [2009-12-06 16:47:38 +0000 UTC]

haha never seen jowls on a horse before
Does he have a more convex or concave profile? Seems most Andy's have a very straight face, some may be roman nosed though, but TBs seem to have sharper features.

He actually has a pretty dishy face. And I guess there not really jowls... but cheeks Either way they are huge! I can drag him around by them

Awesome, we were lookin at a magazine during lunch one day and a girl who owned horses saw what appeared to be an Anglo on the cover "That's a fine ass horse!" I was laughin so hard! But what made her say that? I asked and she said it was the refined cheek/jaw bones, they were huge. She said her horses didn't look like that because they were fat. We can't all have nice horses like that because we can't spend every waking hour training them and excersizing them or spend the money on good feed. Horses can get fat on a green field real quick.

Hahaha, well him being a stud is the real reason his cheeks and neck are so huge. We have two other horses by the same sire in the barn, and they are far more sleek. He's also a half brother to Amy Tryon's Olympic Event horse Poggio

Oh I love fb greys! I used to work at a stable that had a QH gelding that was a fb grey, his name was Dude and he had an unusually long back.

Haha, well he's not obviously fleabitten... he was really dappled up till about a year ago, and he started to really lighten up lately

Dapples are so pretty, as of yet I have not once successfully painted a dappled grey, it's kinda hard.

It's really hard! I cheat and use spotty brushes and Gaussian blur

I have a seurat brush that makes spots but they have to be in a line and my brush makes them EVERYWHERE and I'm like NOO!

that sucks. Drawing all those dots by hand would be a pain in the but! *Leia-Luver has a tutorial on how to do dapples, but it's drawing each one and smudging each one... It looks great, but I have yet to try it for lack of time. [link]
