Lorien followed the sound whispering her name, though no matter how far and wide she looked she couldn’t find where it was coming from. It was deep into the night when finally the voice stopped being heard at all, and she was left alone in the forest, wondering what to do next. That’s when a dark shape flitted over her. Lorien looked up anxiously, though for once was glad to be invisible. Maybe wolves couldn’t see her, but hopefully anything else lurking about wouldn’t see her either!

Unfortuantely, she was wrong. And with a sudden rush of air and loud screech Lorien whirled around just in time to see two huge talons reach right for her face. She didn’t have time to react, stumbling back with a cry and trying to take cover, but the owl’s talons had already slashed her face several times before she had the chance to offer it her much more well-furred shoulder to protect herself. Lorien finally managed to spring up, clomping her jaws at the owl, and nearly biting it, which quickly sent it off on its way.

“Of course you can see me.” Lorien muttered irritably at the long gone owl, wincing at the stinging of her clawed face and shoulder. She could feel how deep it was from how much it throbbed. She might even be scarred. At least she knew this wasn’t a dream, dreams never hurt like this. But she did hope that since the owl could see her, maybe her packmates could now too. So she had best make her way back, after finding a river in which to wash up…

I know I said I’d finish the cave storyline before continuing this one, but for time reasons (the last cave picture is a bit more complicated than this one) this is the picture I had time to do today, and barely.

October 16th, with the word Watch! I wanted to save that word for later, since it’s an easy one, but nothing else really fit here so… here it is haha. I’m now halfway done with Inktober!! I am just constantly in a state of shock that I’m actually still doing this, especially because I’ve been so busy irl. Then again, it’s almost 2am right now so I guess that’s how I’m doing it haha. There will be time to sleep in November.
