Weird hill to die on and now I'm deadaka: I thought a cascading page layout would be cool, got thru half the page, LOST that page, and then redrew the entire thing out of spite
Anyways! Early update bc i realized if i kept posting every other month then the next update would be on April fools and while i may be a fool i dont want my actual comic pages to be mistaken for jokes ksdjgh

This is a really unique page layout. I don't think I've seen anything like this! Though a little confusing to read at first, I like how it comes together at the end.

im late but this is such a good page!!!! I love seeing what everyone's family's are like, it's a lot of very good development! also the format is so cute, having everyone pulling each other across panels is such a good way to show them getting closer and I love it! <3
also im gonna,,, fight willow's family. like janet seems to mean well and is better than the others but theyre all so,,,, condescending? idk they just don't seem to see her as an equal and im angery

Woahh this is an excellent example of utilizing the freedom digital comics have as a medium! Not every experiment is a success, but I'm really stoked about this one.
I saw at a glance where the different parts join, so it was easy for me to decide on a reading order: Cian, Bobbie, Willow, Marcelle, Abrey. I think this gimmick really helped with making a talky page fun - not that it would have been boring in a normal format, the conversations were interesting because everyone is precious, and it's so nice that their families can see them and that they are so supportive. Much positivity and hype for the Gym Battle... If anything bad ever happens to these kids, I WILL cry.

Thank you!!! I think nuzlockes are really cool like that! Since there's never any chance of physical printing (bc copyright) you're able to just go absolutely wild with the digital formatting!!
Yeah! that's kinda the order I wrote them in, but i was hopeful that it would be able to be read in any order!

I have to be honest: the paneling on this page is quite confusing. I LOVE the concept behind it. But it's a bit unclear what order I should be reading things. I read it top to bottom to get a full conversation, but because the characters get pulled sideways into other panels, our eyes are naturally drawn that way and we're plopped into the middle of a new convo with no context.
Again, really fun idea. I appreciate when people play around with paneling. Just my input on it

This is such a cute way to present all of their calls--! Really effective layout (so sorry you had to redo it, tho, oof), really highlights both the individual teammates and where they come from AND shows off those team dynamics. Makes me really afraid of the next gym, tho; a death could shake up those dynamics ...

This was kinda hard to know what order to read in, but also the bits with them gradually pulling each other towards the middle was really cool, and the team's interactions with each other was really sweet. ^^

Yeah, I spent a few seconds staring at it going 'do I read... first column then move to the next? Row by row??' I ended up just kinda. Meandering across it and I think I got the gist
