Description
This would be enough to bring tears to my Austrian mother's heart - her national flower, seen here in the alpine gardens of Allmendhubel above Murren in the Swiss Alps. My morther's house in Australia was named Edelweiss and the flower was one of the main themes of the folk art she lovingly painted.Related content

Interesting piece of history. My mum was Austrian and I used to have many of her German 78 records from the 302 and 40s, but this was not one of them.

We certainly had that. I revisit those songs on Youtube and use them in plays I write and direct based on my family history. Those songs I used to listen to on the gramophone as a child still have a lot of impact on me.
