Inspiration strikes like a green bolt of lightning!! Β
I will be now be penning a tale of Dunstan and Samilla McDouglas, the orphan siblings who slew the basilisk that killed their parents and terrorized the countryside.

i can see that it can works even without blue in shadows, for the warm feeling ^^. It's cool that you didn't shown us what they're both looking at. That lets our imagination freely do the rest. Another new great piece !

Thanks! Yes, for this one I went for warm shadows and cool direct light.

OH I love this! Β There is a lot of contrast, yes, between the two characters, in the structure of their faces and their forms, but there's a lovely unity here too, you can see how they trust each other, she's got his back, he's protecting her. Β He's chivalrous, but she's no helpless pansy either. Β XD Β The colors are stunning as usual, I love the warmth and how it's highlighted by cooler colors...
(And I see nothing wrong with the male brawler and the female shooter. Β Unless the female is a ninja or built like a tank, or one of those ridiculously perfect heroines, she'd be a lousy brawler. Β Different gifts/strengths, different roles. Β XD)
One of my new favorites. Β It always makes my day when you post something. Β

Thanks
I suppose I just feel a bit unoriginal, since these roles appear so often in the fantasy genre. Β But you're right, it works for a reason, and (as I think you will agree) by design.Β

There's nothing new under the sun, I hear, it just matters what you do with the chars in the roles. Β These two could definitely be a unique pair of adventurers or heroes. Β It does work for a reason, which is probably why it's popular (and I most definitely agree).
(I forgot to mention how I love the way you rendered their outfits and faces. Β There's little detail but the forms and shadings...gah. Β Love)

I love the way this is drawing, and the clothes. It remains me of Azula and Zuko. I'm not too keen on the Guys Smash, Girls Shoot though. But it's yours.

Yeah, I'm a bit tired of the female archer - male brute too. It just seemed to work best for this composition.Β

I see. Well, I suppose when there is context (I'm assuming this is part of a story?) I'll understand.
