Even after the end of the Strange Element Wars humans never achieved the ability of true teleportation - yet they were able to create small or "short" wormholes to jump from the orbit of one planet to another one inside the same system as the semi-permanent gate located about Luna (Earth's Moon) connected to the other one orbiting Io satellite.

Their initial mistake was taking fictional facts - such as quantum leap - as veridic and trying to adapt them for spatial teleportation.
