The Ricasso, the flat section of the blade located at the junction of the blade or knife's bolster (front
fittings). Question: Why did you leave it so long??

It is my own Opinion Is that you now have some what 1.5 mm shorter blade to operate with than what it could be..

I think u are right but I Bought this blade, I'm not able to make damascuss. Non of the damascuss blades in my gallery was made by me, I just made the handles. That's why I didn't change the shape
