something i feel i just need to say about this is that i definitely think you can do better. I'm not sure of whether this is purposeful, but i feel that you really like to rush it, and in many cases that would be a good thing and many people like that. I feel that the patterns were very carefully and well thought out. I just think the effort you put into the pattern could have been applied to the head and outside lines, as in cleaner and more deliberate. but if you feel your on a roll, go for it, just keep in mind the final picture.

This captures exactly what I imagine a migraine must feel like.  The simplicity seems to help get the point across; too much detail or realism and it wouldn't be as straightforward.

Love the combination of ornament/patterns with the portrait.

ive suffered from migraines since i was 12 and this drawing really captures the strange vision phenomenon that occurs before the headache sets in. do you also get partial blindness light auras before migraines?

I don't really get migraines anymore after the causes of them were surgically removed (really it seems that after years of issues it's only anticlimactic that the cause of my agony would just simply get cut out my face) but before that I had that vision effect a lot. It was like I was getting a visual overload before I'd black out for a couple seconds. Sometimes I'd even fall over with a very loud thud, to much comic effect.

It feels to me that the phenomenon is like exploding head syndrome (where you hear a very loud bang or loud static sound that isn't there very suddenly), except for the eyes instead of the ears. It's a really similar feeling at least, with the sudden and unexpected malfunction of one of my major senses. I still do get exploding head syndrome at night... note to self: I should draw something that illustrates how that feels sometime in the future, I think that would be fun.

There were polyps growing behind my eyes that were wrecking my shit. Once those hit the road it's been smooth sailing.

This would make a cool poster. Reminds me of those '60s psychedelic posters.

You've been very active. I love the tangible fear in that eye. Wonderful.

your work just keeps getting better and better! I see your beginning to embrace a new style, and i think it really captures the un-tangible aspects, really good work! hope you get some glasses on your face soon, cause i'm eager to see what you come up with next!

It not only expresses how a migraine feels but a lot of other distressing conditions of the mind too. Excellent work!

there's a book by Oliver Sacks called Migraine you might find interesting. It talks about hallucinations that people have from migraines, has some cool pictures in it too.
