not really happy with the lines, but the shading came out alright i guess.i kinda got back into playing phantasy star universe. i'm not sure why that game is so addicting. i played on the ps2/pc servers before and now i'm on the xbox360 servers... i've been playing phantasy star portable on psp also (looking forward to psp2) and haven't had a chance to pick up ps zero for DS yet. looks like fun though.
xander has been my main character through all incarnations thus far. (i much prefer casts... though i have a human, newman, and a beast as well.) this is the first time though i've drawn him and actually kinda liked how he turned out.
might go over this in color pencil if i can get it to come out right.

i really liked zero. I only wish that it was specifially for dsi instead of just ds so that it could have downloadable content and updates. I really like psp and psp2 as well. I'm still playing psp2 a little bit actually. chat for both of those portable games though is such a pain.
it seems like i read recently that they're working on a new pso game for the next gen systems... or maybe it was current gen... either way, a new pso would be awesome. :3

Also, you are correct. PSO2 is planned to come out early 2012. It also has Dumans in it, which Ive never had the chance ot play, so this might be interesting.

I can't remember, thought it was in the psp games though. They are like crossbreeds of Human and Newmans. supposedly they replace the Beast race from PSU.

Yeah, I'm trying to get a psp so I can play them. Would be interesting to see how they changed or added to the models and selection of how you can mod your characters.

You've definitely gave your PSU character a really good impression with this piece. I have a game idea that has a similar setting and gameplay as Phantasy Star Universe, but has significant differences such as morality and the fact that the main character has a speaking voice during cutscenes. Yup. CASTs are just ten times cooler than any other race. The males are freakin mecha and the girls are... well... way cooler than the other ones.

I read somewhere online that they are in the works of a new version or patch, or something like that, to be DSI capable and download friendly. I hope it comes out soon.

THAT would freakin' rock. i know that if somehow the game were exclusive to like the dsi and all the later versions, it would totally work. i guess maybe they initially didn't want to leave out ds and ds lite owners.

It really would, I mean, PSZero is compatible with DSI but not capable if you know what I mean. But hey, I can really see it working well with a new version, perhaps a second part or continuity to Zero. Maybe a prequel. I'd love that, a prequel and if your character was a CAST in Zero it could be playable in the other one, oh the dreams (drools). I'd love to see something like that, besides it would work since CAST's memories were wiped clean.

indeed. the sword and the arm bother me. the arm feels too stiff to me... but both it and the sword didn't seem off in the sketch... just when i cleaned it up. oiy. oh well.

This is awesome, it's been a long time since I've played Phantasy Star and I played it on both the Dreamcast and Gamecube this brings back some fond memories. Great work!
