The light sourcing seems to be spot on to me; you're just being hard on yerself. : D
More than anything else, I love that he's, more or less, just standing there. It's not often that you see TFs just standing around, ya know? They're usually in battle ready poses, or jumping or something [which by no means is a bad thing, I love that stuff too]. Seeing em' this way is just refreshing, I think. Always loved the muted colour scheme on this guy, and his face just gets me every time. I think it's the wide optics and the smirk, I love it. So much personality in im'. : >

that's definately the thing that i've always thought of as beamer's trademark. his face.. mainly his smirk. if he didn't have personality, it just wouldn't feel right to me i think. it would be like i was drawing some bot that sort of looked like him i guess. so i always try to much as much personality in him (even in the simple stuff) as i can. thank you for the comment, raven!!

hehe. thanks! the sword has changed so much since when i first gave it to him... it at one time was more like a very ornate medieval long sword sorta thing.

I really like it Will. The soft colour palette is really effective. It's the sort of thing Andy Wildman has been trying do with his recent work, he's been failing but you've managed to nail it.

Great stuff! It seems to me as though his eyes are his defining feature, along with his smile. Always very wide, bright, and cheerful. Very charismatic. As well as for some reason, the destinctive transformer chin on him looks like a goatee. I don't do that with any other transformer, except Beamer.... and I like it! Do I spy you now using what appears to be a bumper as the sword scabbard?

Nice!! Good job Beamer. You should color more often. Although I like Beamer's old greyish blue better (It's just the colors I'm use to seeing) but this works just as well.
