Listen close, stranger. There are tales in these parts, legends of beings who can tame the great flying beasts of the forests. Gryphon-riders some call them, but everyone just calls them the Riders. No one's ever seen their faces, always covered by a mask of some sort. Some say to see their face is to see death itself. Others say it's to gaze into the visage of pure beauty. I don't know, I've never seen.

Ahergiad...you can't say it too loud or the ravens will hear. That's her name, the great one, the one who leads the Riders into battle. Some say she's an angel, other say she's a fae with feathered wings. Others will tell you she's a half-blood; a union between something wild and holy. I don't know...I told you before, I've never seen.

I can't say anymore. Her ravens are everywhere, watching, listening. They feed from her fire, stranger. Beware those birds, the ones with her fire in their eyes.
