This was one of the pieces I've had the most fun doing! I've wanted to do a dark red and gold lighting like this forever, and I don't draw awesome creatures like gryphon nearly enough
I was trying out a new method of shading and I don't know if that's the reason the gryphon turned out looking so saturated...I'm really happy with how the wings turned out since I usually can't do wing anatomy I think I made the background too dark though...Hope you like it!

WOAAAH the DETAIL, is incredible! I love the way the light is pouring down and shining off the feathers! Really REAAALY awesome .____. All that detail man.... Yeah the main detail I saw in my head when I was envisioning this was the light pouring off the wings
lol it used to be that she was supposed to be holding onto a running prey so I was trying to make the pose dynamic, but then I decided I didn't want to draw another creature so I did cliffs instead XD
It looks traditional? lol must be all those years of doing traditional art XD

Hey I'm wondering but does the background look a bit washed out? Does the cliff that the Griffin's about to land on Β have a bluish tint at some areas if you look closely? I looked at it from my PC and the colors all look so weird! The colored are a lot more vivid and have a lot more contrast on my mac (which I drew this on) so I'm wondering whether that's because my colors are not calibrated right...everything in my gallery looks weird on the PC actually so I'm not sure if people are seeing different colors than I am... D:

Hmm... I think the background is a bit washed out yeah but I think it's pretty vivid. There's a bluish tint at some areas on the cliff yes... I think I'm seeing the same thing you see. I'm on my laptop.

Ack then I think the color calibration's off on my laptop because there's no blue tint and the background's really dark...I think you're seeing what I see on my PC.Β
There are also pale-ish grey thick lines on the cliff the gryphon's landing on too, right?Β
I should fix it then because all my art looks funny otherwise...thank-you for the help!Β
