So recently I've been browsing through art on DA, a lot of it has been stamps though since I freakin' love them. Anyway I was looking through stamps to add to my collection and I came upon a stamp that said "rape is okay." I will not post a link to the prick's stamp unless someone makes a request for me to. But when I saw that stamp I was immediately angry. And I looked through the artists comments and the regular comments and I noticed that people want us (the people who hate rape jokes) to stop "whining" about rape jokes. Umm, excuse me? But we are not whining. What we are doing is showing that we care about the people who have been raped. Whenever someone jokes about it, it puts dark and painful memories into their heads. You people that actually think it's funny and okay are sick and disgusting. So SCREW every one of you insensitive pricks. Feel free to start bitching because if you actually think it's funny and okay then you are a fool. You say bs like "Oh, it's suprise sex
!". No it is not. If the person does NOT like or want it, then it is NOT sex. So stop filling people's heads with your ignorant lies. This concludes my rant.

I don't think anyone would say that and I do not believe someone actually has.
But I'd like to point out that rape jokes do Not, nor have they ever, implied rape is okay. And people who use them are not insensitive twats and have enough common sence not to use them around a victim or someone who doesn't appreciate them.
At least, I'd like to think so.
I make rape jokes, with my close friends, and that's my view on it.

Honestly, It's better to laugh and try to make the best of anything [NOT saying to make the best of what actually happen...Oh god no.] Like the feelings try to turn them around.
I Know a few rape victims who joke about it way more than me. It makes them happier than mopping about and and cursing people out who make the jokes. Its better to laugh then cry.

People are entitled to their own opinion, and I respect that. I see where your coming from too. But the problem with me is there's several types of jokes that I just won't laugh at because I just don't find them funny. A person's sense of comedy is a biased thing anyway, and I'm fine with that. But I don't like it when people try to make a joke about something that I think is bullshit, and then they expect ME to laugh at it when they know I won't. That's when I start feel irritated. But I've gotten to the point where I don't care if people are gonna start trolling me or some crap like that. I just ignore their insults and/or smart ass remarks.

Rape is indeed not okay. But if you add it in a fanfic and someone says the author supports rape that's where I will get a little miffed. I've never been raped, but if I add it in a fanfic I at least warn people about it so they don't go all 'Ew you're sick and disgusting!' And I'm careful with how I write it too, as I'm aware there are people that have been raped.

I just don't like the fact that people joke about it because when they do it really gets under my skin. I've written stories before where I've had the subject of rape put into it, like I created a character that was living with that burden. I don't tie it into some of my stories though for a comical reason, because I don't find it funny at all. I've put it into some of my stories because I feel like it needs to be recognized as a serious thing because to some it's an embarassing and/or scary thing to happen to people. But just like you, I'm very careful with how I write it because I never want to go into a lot of detail about it

Yeah if people joke about it that's where I draw the line, I just don't see anything funny about it :/ I agree. People add stuff like rape, murder's, abuse etc because they are serious issue's and people need to be aware that these thing's can happen and do happen unfortunately. Going into detail is something I have trouble with when it comes to rape, I try to write it carefully and make it realistic...but I get comment's sometimes saying how 'sick' I am for writing about it.

Rape Jokes make me feel disgusted to be part of the human race. I think it is one of the main reasons I love the Asari from the Mass Effect series so much.
Also, I have had to report stories on Fanfiction.net that had rape. There was one that had Jacob Black rape Pikachu and one that had Edward Cullen rape Winnie the Pooh. Also, there was one that had Anakin raped by Darth Maul. I reported that one and thankfully it was deleted because it had pedophilia.
I just do not get why people like such disgusting stories!

I think the reason why people write these hideous stories is because they somehow find humor in it. Which I don't understand at all, since both things are not really something to joke and/or laugh about.

Same here. I actually used to be one of the idiots that when someone yelled out "RAPE" I would laugh. But I grew up and became mature and realized how freakin' insensitive and awful it is. As a matter of fact if I probably heard someone yell it out I would punch them in the face without hesitation just to knock some sense into them lol.
