12/9/2014 edit:Rewording (when I first made it, I was in a rush so here'e a revision)We have things in our life that we love to do. Whether it'd be gaming or listening to music or watching TV, and so on. We love to do our hobbies, and it makes us happy. No one should be telling us to stop.
Same applies to certain stuff people make and upload on deviantArt. Some people like writing x reader fics, or yaoi, or they like to draw ponified versions of people, and so on. If the artist is happy making this, why should anyone tell them to stop? I'm sure they mean no harm. A story or drawing doesn't hurt anybody.
Why should we ruin their fun? Why should we tell them to stop doing what makes them happy?
Just because you don't like it?
What if someone told you to stop doing what you enjoy?
And it's not just works on dA. Some people like watching anime, and they get called names. Everybody has the right to watch what they enjoy, you shouldn't make them feel bad for liking it. If you don't like it, good for you. Just don't bother anyone who does. Vice versa as well.
Back in Middle school I would get bothered for..
-liking Pokemon
-Preferring anime games over COD
-Drawing Sonic characters when bored (Even now, when I draw Persona character instead, I still get people bothering me about it)
-Listening to video game music instead of Katy Perry or some other band.
I don't get how even something as harmless as hobbies, people still feel the right to criticize others for it. Simply because they dislike it.
Everyone should do whatever makes them happy as long as they don't hurt or offend anybody
It's our joys in life and nobody should take it away from us.

Yes. Thank you. Honestly, I wish I was more comfortable doing the stuff I love. Instead, I feel like I have to dumb it down by a lot. Like, for example, when I'm talking with people who dislike the things I like, I just tend to avoid the subject entirely so I won't have to hear stupid insults and generalizations.

On YouTube, I was watching a trailer for a film called 'Norm of the North' and I said 'I like the look of this movie' At least three people insulted me for liking this trailer and in the end I had to delete my comment because it was getting out of hand.

Earlier, I was getting berated by someone on a shipping stamp. I said that I liked shipping and so here is what they said:
Them: Shipping makes you look like a pervert and a weirdo. Seriously, it's fictional characters, they are not real!!!
Me: If you don't like to ship, that's your business, not mine. If I like to ship, that's my business and not yours. Therefore, I politely implore you to mind your own business.
Them: I just don't get it! I don't understand how people enjoy this massive, shallow trend! It's extremely weird, creepy, and pointless. They are not real characters, you don't have to be so attached to them, it makes you look like a child. Are you people even sane? Do you go to school? Do you have lives outside shipping? Do you act normally in public? Because on DeviantArt you guys act like you don't. All this shipping war shit, it's so pathetic and immature, it's ridiculous! Why do you care what characters get together? They are not real and you should not be so attached to them. There are more important things in life to worry about.
Me (beginning to get frustrated): We do have lives outside of shipping, thank you very much! And the whole point of this stamp is that shipping wars are stupid! It is basically telling people to mind their own business. Which is what I am asking you to do. And how the FUCK does being attached to fictional characters make me seem like a child, when people can be obsessed with celebrities, and nobody gives a shit about it? We care because we want to, OK? End of story. We're not hurting anyone, and, last time I checked, we are allowed to do whatever makes us happy, as long as it doesn't hurt anybody (the Pursuit of Happiness).

I personally don't see what's the big fuss about yaoi is. I mean, I'm fine with people disliking it, but I think they should leave alone those who write/draw it. It isn't hurting anybody. I can understand them pointing out inaccuracies or things about it that could offend certain people, I think that's fine but they shouldn't try to ruin the fun of those who like it. At the same time, I think Yaoi artists should leave alone those who dislike it (and also those who have different pairings than them xD)

I feel the same way~ & I'm not one of those people who pushes it down another's throat, yet they say I am by writing it for all to see! I never forced them to read it! They did that on their own, yet they blame me for it!~ Oi.
Plus all of the Yaoi I write is mainly about fanfictional characters! & I HATE that excuse that writing Yaoi makes characters gay, when it CLEARLY doesn't!~
