This is a great photograph (as well as a very imaginative title!) If all of the birds had been sitting, it would have been rather static (and one might say, just another seabird picture). But you caught the scene, instead, in the split second that the single bird took off, giving the picture life and a story. The slightly blurred wing gave the bird movement; which, in turn, seemed to give movement even to the ocean waves. You can feel the incoming ocean breezes lifting up the bird as it leaves the others behind to do its own thing. Very nice!
